Bonnie "Prince" Billy – Keeping Secrets Will Destroy You

Bonnie Prince Billy recorded his 2023 album "Keeping Secrets Will Destroy You" in a single room instead of going to a studio for each instrument, as is quite common. Thus, the sound of the album is almost as present when listening as if you were in that room among people who make music together and communicate.

The album was recorded in Louisville by Nick Roeder, with Sara Louise Callaway on violin, Kendall Carter on keys, Elisabeth Fuchsia on viola and violin, Dave Howard on mandolin, Drew Miller on saxophone and Dane Waters' voice.

The 12 songs span a wide spectrum from classical to Japanese acid folk and beyond. They convey a sense of community and cohesion that is the marrow and lifeblood of this music.
